Torn HQ is a free companion app for the browser game Torn, available for Android, iOS and the web. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your API key and Torn data stay on your device. We only collect anonymous usage and crash data to improve the app.
How your API key is used
Torn requires every tool that accepts an API key to state the following.
| Data storage | Your profile data, chain hits, target lists and settings are saved only on your device, so they show instantly and reminders can be timed. Uninstalling the app (or clearing the site's data on the web) deletes everything. |

| Key access level | A Limited access key (read-only). Chain hit tracking also needs Faction API access from your faction. Torn HQ never asks for your Torn password. |
Services the app talks to
- api.torn.com: to read your Torn data with your key. See Torn's own terms and privacy policy.
- ffscouter.com: only if you use FF Scouter features, to get stat estimates and target suggestions.
- www.torn.com: when you open Torn pages inside the app's built-in browser. You log in to Torn directly; Torn HQ never sees your password. Login cookies stay in the app's browser on your device.
Anonymous usage and crash data
To see which features are used, which devices people use, and where things go wrong, Torn HQ uses Google Analytics (and, in the phone apps, Google Firebase crash reporting). This data is anonymous and is only used to improve Torn HQ.
It never includes your API key, your Torn name or ID, or any of your Torn data. Google processes it under its privacy policy. You can limit it with your browser's or phone's privacy settings.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-up.
- No advertising.
- No selling of any data.
- Your API key and Torn data are never sent to us or to any analytics service.
Permissions on your phone
- Notifications: to show reminders and chain alarms.
- Exact alarms: so reminders fire on time instead of minutes late.
- Foreground service (Android): only while you choose to guard a chain, to keep a live countdown in your notification bar and the chain alarms running when you switch apps.
- Set alarm (Android): only when you tap "Phone alarm" or "Phone timer" to add one to your Clock app.
Children
Torn HQ is meant for Torn players and follows Torn's own age requirements. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
